Once in the past lived a lad, around the age of nineteen, whose parents unfortunately recently had passed away, due to an uncurable major sickness, which lasted and tortured their lives for several months.
The name of this lad was Arthur, and he came from a poor family, and the only items he inherited from his parents were: their home and an aged book. He thought that the book wouldn’t help his unfortunate situation, so he placed it somewhere up on a dusty shelf and never touched it again.
Even though he was working, as the months passed, his financial situation became worse and worse, because he had to pay back some of his parents’ debts, until the point that he was obligated to sell his childhood house, and to move into a new smaller one, in order to be able to live a tolerable life.
The day Arthur started packing up everything to move into the new house, he stumbled onto an aged, dusty, and unknown book. After a few glances he realized that that was the book he had got from his father, of which he had totally forgotten. He sat down on a chair and started observing the book which had a leather cover and yellowed pages that became like this with the passage of time.
Arthur opened it and he couldn’t believe his eyes, on the first page there was a handwritten letter from his father. He started reading it, and after the first lines he started crying but continued reading until he finished. The letter was about a hidden treasure which was collected by his parents to be there for him when he really needed it. He read the remaining pages, with that hope to find the exact location of the treasure, however, there were only a few personal hints about its location, so others couldn’t find it, if somebody decided to steal the book.
Arthur started thinking about the hints he has got, and after only a few minutes he figured out the area where the treasure had to be hidden. He thought that the location was the stable which had a wooden floor. Arthur brought some tools and started removing the old wooden planks. After only two planks removed, he found a small chest. He opened it and he couldn’t see anything but gold.
Arthur brought the chest into the house and counted all the gold, and when he finished, there was enough to re-purchase his old house and to sustain himself for the next few years, however, he decided to only re-purchase the house and to save the remaining money for other difficult events from his life, because you never can know what could strike the next day.
